Lisbon had hosted the 5th Nato Cyber Defence Smart Defence Projects’ (Cd Sdp) Conference that took place at Portuguese Military Academy in 16th of May.
The Conference was organized by the Ministry of Defence of Portugal (MDN) in coordination with the Portuguese Military Academy, representing an unusual opportunity to explore new ideas: from harmonising requirements to delivering operational capabilities; from research and innovation to transformation; from education, training and exercises to maintenance and support for operations, and reinforcing the NATO-EU complementarity of efforts on the field of Cyber Security and Cyber Defence.
The most prestigious speakers from organizations in the international scene of Cyberdefense and Cybersecurity lectured at the event. About 320 participants from around 30 countries came to Portugal to attended this meeting. His Excellency the President of the Republic of Portugal, Professor Doctor Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, was one of the guest speakers.
On May 17, 2019, and still under Cyber Defense, was signed the protocol "Cyber Academy and Innovation Hub", between the Portuguese Army, through the Military Academy, and the Directorate General of National Defense Resources, which will allow to locate in the Military Academy, in the near future, the development of capabilities associated to National Security and Defense, enhancing the role of Portugal in the area of Education and Training in Cybersecurity and Cyberdefense.
